Recently, some readers reported to the newspaper that they suspected that someone sent a fraudulent email via Hotmail in the name of Microsoft (Microsoft). However, the user was required to provide information such as email, login name and password in order to carry out the encryption process. However, readers felt that the layout format was different from the previous layout of Hotmail, and it was suspected that it was a fake email sent by Hotmail. 
Microsoft responds that in no circumstances will users be required to provide personal information via email, including login name, password, date of birth or location, contact telephone number, and even credit card information. Information about security updates is available to users on the Microsoft website. The company will seriously deal with any fraudulent e-mail sent by its online products and services.

Microsoft calls for no reply

If users receive an e-mail or a phone call from Microsoft suspected of betraying Microsoft’s request for personal information or click on a link, they should never reply to the sender or link to the specified link. They are advised to notify the Hotmail team immediately, or call the Microsoft Customer Service Hotline; Users install anti-fraud and fishing tools such as the SmartScreen malware filtering tool.
